Due to the pandemic there is much confusion in the world today. Constantly we are being given various different guidelines of what we should and shouldn’t do. We may find ourselves wondering who we should look to for guidance - who is right and who is wrong. All the different guidance we are being given can leave us feeling confused and utterly bewildered.
However, amidst all the confusion in the world, there is one place that we can turn to that gives us definite, clear, and reliable guidance for our lives – the Bible. In Romans 15:4, we clearly see that this wonderful book is written for us – to help us in our lives. 
So here we see that “the scriptures” (the Bible) is written “for our learning”. It is written to teach us good lessons, and to give us the right guidance for our lives. In this verse we also see that The Bible also gives us comfort and hope!
To expand on these thoughts, 2 Timothy 3:16 gives us more details on how The Bible is good for us. Here we read:
From this verse we see the following things:
- Allof the Bible is from God – all of it is God’s words and not man’s, but God inspired man to write his words down. (See 2 Pet 1:21).
- Allof the Bible is profitable for us.
- Allof the Bible teaches us doctrine, reproof, correction, and instruction in righteousness.
In simple terms, this verse shows us what guidance the Bible gives us. The Bible shows us what are the right things to believe if we want to follow God’s ways – it teaches us what God’s principles are (doctrine). It also warns us what are the wrong things to do in life (reproof and correction).
Finally, it gives us guidance and teaching on the best way to lead our lives – to follow God’s ways by doing the right things in our lives (instruction in righteousness). If we heed God’s instruction in righteousness, then this leads t
o the wonderful “hope” mentioned in Romans 15:4. This wonderful hope is the coming of God’s kingdom, which will be covered in other blog posts on this page.
So, we see how the Bible is such a wonderful book. It is the only thing we can turn to throughout our lives that will always give us the same sure and stable guidance upon which we can base our lives. God’s Word, the Bible, never changes, so we can always rely on it and this makes it the best guidance we can follow in our lives today!
