Who are the Christadelphians?
We are a group of people who believe the Bible as understood by the Apostles of Jesus, the promised Messiah of Israel. Jesus began his ministry by preaching the things of God’s Kingdom. The Jews, though, rejected Jesus and persuaded Pilate to crucify him. God’s purpose with Jesus was to save His people from their sins, So Jesus willingly allowed this to happen in complete obedience to the will of his Father. As a result, he would conquer sin and death.
“For God so loved the world that He gave His only-begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life”. John 3:16 MKJV
The death of Jesus fulfilled the purpose of God revealed through Isaiah, many years before.
“He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: ……he was despised, and we esteemed him not. Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all” Isaiah 53:3-6 KJV
However, by many infallible proofs Jesus was seen by his disciples less than a week later. This was because it was not possible for him to remain in the grave with the sentence of death upon him. He had not only lived a completely sinless life but had gone further, enduring the suffering of the cross to fulfil the will of God.
As Peter the Apostle said soon afterwards,
“Ye men of Israel, hear these words; Jesus of Nazareth, a man approved of God among you by miracles and wonders and signs, which God did by him in the midst of you, as ye yourselves also know: Him, being delivered by the determinate counsel and foreknowledge of God, ye have taken, and by wicked hands have crucified and slain: Whom God hath raised up, having loosed the pains of death: because it was not possible that he should be holden of it” Acts 2:22-24 KJV
After his resurrection, Jesus ascended to the right hand of his Father to intercede for those who would believe.
Wherefore in all things it behoved him to be made like unto his brethren, that he might be a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make reconciliation for the sins of the people. For in that he himself hath suffered being tempted, he is able to succour them that are tempted. Hebrews 2:17-18 KJV
That is not all. God has promised he will return with power to eradicate wickedness from the earth, to establish righteousness and justice for all and to set up God’s Kingdom on earth. This home of ours will then become the paradise that God intended when He created all things in the beginning. We would be glad to share these things with you.
